SDO Tayabas City Shines at the 2025 CALABARZON Learning Resources Expo The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tayabas City made an outstanding impact at the 2025 CALABARZON Learning Resources Expo (CLRE) held at Tagaytay Haven Mendez, Tagaytay City, January 27- 30. The event, organized by the Department of Education Region IV-A through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) - Learning Resource Management Section (LRMS), provided a platform for Schools Division Offices (SDOs) to showcase innovative and inclusive learning resources aligned with the new curriculum. The 2025 CALABARZON Learning Resources Expo commenced with warm words of welcome from Loida N. Nidea, Assistant Regional Director, setting an enthusiastic tone for the event. This was followed by an inspiring Message from Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte, CESO II, Regional Director, emphasizing the role of innovative learning resources in shaping 21st-century education. The keynote address was delivered by Donna Fowler, Director of Learning and Solutions Implementation at Teaching Strategies LLC, Washington, DC, USA, who shared valuable insights promoting innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in learning resources across CALABARZON. A ceremonial ribbon cutting marked the official opening of the expo, symbolizing the commitment of CALABARZON educators to advancing learning resource development. One of the event's highlights was the Recognition of CALABARZON Learning Resources, where outstanding contributions in resource development were acknowledged. The expo concluded with a closing message from Dianne Catherine T. Antonio, Regional Learning Resource Supervisor, who commended the participants for their dedication to fostering innovation and excellence in learning resource management. Moreover, the said event was attended by SDO Tayabas City delegation, led by the CID Chief Edwin R. Rodriguez, EPS-LRMDS Generosa F. Zubieta, Librarian II Edna E. Eclavea, and PDO II Ermelo A. Escobinas, who presented a range of localized learning materials designed to enhance literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. Their booth attracted significant attention from regional supervisors, who carefully examined the showcased materials, inquired about the special program, and requested copies of the reading materials. Additionally, HOTS-SOLO (Higher Order Thinking Skills and Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) materials, exclusively available in Tayabas, further highlighted the division's commitment to quality education. Awards and Recognition SDO Tayabas City's dedication to excellence in learning resources was recognized through two prestigious awards: Parangal Kabihasnan: Excellence in Learning Resource for Special Curricular Programs and Dalubhasa sa Kagamitang Pampagtuturo which acknowledge the division's outstanding contributions to specialized curricular initiatives and honor the development of high-quality teaching materials that support effective instruction. These accolades reflect the division's efforts in producing and utilizing innovative learning resources that cater to diverse learners, including those in SPED, IPED, ALS, Multigrade and MADRASAH programs. Engagement and Market Scoping On the last day of the expo, the delegation participated in a market scoping activity, where various schools benchmarked the SDO Tayabas City booth. The activity also facilitated the acquisition of several books from different publishers, further enriching the division's repository of learning resources. Highlights of the 2025 CLRE Sessions and Discussions The said event also featured several important discussions and workshops aimed at improving resource management and development: Building Effective Teams in Learning Resource Management explores team-building strategies to enhance collaboration among supervisors, developers, and librarians. Optimizing Digital Resource Management with Microsoft 365 covers how Microsoft 365 tools like Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive can streamline resource organization and collaboration. Fostering Innovation and Creativity in Resource Development Teams encourages innovative problem-solving, risk-taking, and creative thinking in educational material development. Revisiting the Policy on the Identification and Procurement of Supplementary Learning Resources provides updated guidelines on the selection and procurement of supplementary resources to ensure alignment with educational standards and cost-effectiveness. The 2025 CALABARZON Learning Resources Expo underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in educational resource development. With its notable contributions, insightful discussions, and well-deserved recognition, SDO Tayabas City continues to set the standard for excellence in learning resource management across the region.
