The Schools Division Office of Tayabas City advises the public to be vigilant against phishing scams. Frequently, emails posing as correspondence from respectable financial or banking institutions are used in these scams. As we are currently in the season of year-end bonuses and other incentives, scammers are working twice as hard to commit these fraudulent acts. There were reported instances of emails sent to DepEd emails of several personnel, which were unfortunately also sent using DepEd emails. As a precautionary measure, never click on any unknown links sent via email, especially those appearing to need immediate action. Verify the legitimacy of emails. Never give or supply any personal information, such as online banking login credentials or one-time pins (OTPs). In order to ensure the security of our DepEd emails, everyone is urged to use strong passwords and change them frequently. For reporting of phishing emails, please contact the Schools Division Office of Tayabas City – ICT Unit through our official communication channels or email us at tayabas.city@deped.gov.ph / ict.tayas@deped.gov.ph
